Dr. Thomas Whealton is board certified in Anesthesiology and Interventional Pain Management. With his advanced training, he is able to utilize cutting edge treatments to help reduce or eliminate the need for pain medicine and improve the quality of life for his patients. He has co-authored research papers on Radiofrequency Ablation, Peripheral Nerve Pain and Hormonal Effects of Long-term Opioid Use.
He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Pikeville, College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency in Anesthesiology at West Virginia University. Dr. Whealton chose to continue his education and pursue a fellowship in Interventional Pain Management at the University of Cincinnati because of his desire to have an impact on his patients lives. Before his medical studies, he graduated from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville where he majored in Political Science and the University of Kentucky where he earned his Law Degree.
